Five Element Yoga® Teacher Training is for for yoga teachers and experienced yoga students (you do not have to be a yoga teacher to do this training). CE Credits available: 40 credits for Yoga Alliance (YA) and others. Included in Kripalu 1000-Hour Teacher Training


Five Element Yoga® balances and nourishes at every level of being, bringing you into a state of harmony and health within yourself, so that you flow with the cadence and rhythms of nature. This potent practice that weaves together yoga postures, breathing, mudras, meditation, self-massage, guided meditation and creative integration practices to realign you with the rhythms of nature. Jennifer developed Five Element Yoga® inspired by hatha yoga, yoga therapy, Ayurveda, and Traditional Chinese Medicine and was developed by Jennifer Reis.

In this training you will move deeply into Five Element Yoga® practice yourself, while learning the skills necessary to create powerful classes and workshops. Beyond an ordinary training, this is a time for deep practice, reflection and learning, cultivating personal inquiry and experience to transform your own life and the lives of your students. You will embody the five elements with yoga, taking your personal practice and teaching to higher levels, awakening your inner radiance as a yogi and teacher.

Earth, water, fire, air and ether are the archetypal building blocks of our bodies, our energy, and everything in existence. The elements are vivid, colorful, potent — creating fertile ground for sensing truth within.


In this training you will learn and  and experience the art, science and philosophy of the five elements in a multi-faceted inquiry that allows the essence of the elements to establish and flower from within.

The model of the five elements corresponds directly to the major yogic models including the five koshas, five kleshas, five prana vayus, three doshas, and the seven chakras. By unraveling each elements’ parallel kosha, vayu, dosha and chakra, we are able to unlock the door to deeper inquiry and exploration of our true Self.

When your elements are balanced, you are in harmony within yourself, and can feel qualities of stability, flowing grace, vitality, expansion, and inner wholeness within yourself and the universe.  When the elements are out of balance, equilibrium is disrupted and you can become out of sync with yourself and the natural world. 

With Five Element Yoga®, you will learn how to guide yourself and your students back into harmony to tap into your greatest potential, and to enjoy increased health, happiness and peace.
