MUDRAS are ‘seals’ that can open us to new ways of seeing things, powerfully moving us beyond the level of the thinking mind. Energetically, when we hold a Mudra, it re-circuits energy pathways called Nadis or Meridians that are found throughout the body – the hands contain a particularly large number of these channels. Thus when holding a mudra it will create shifts in the breath, body, energy and thought patterns, allowing us to see and feel fresh ways of being.

This is so sweet! A baby dolphin, even though behind glass, connects with a curious toddler in such a profound and joyous way.
I admit, I get tears in my eyes each time I watch this video.
It’s as if the barrier doesn’t even exist, as their innocent curiosity and wonder reach out to one another, perhaps recognizing that they are both young beings, exploring the world and the language of the heart. The dolphin trying to communicate, and perhaps she’s speaking? The toddler’s hand waving, and the dolphin’s inquisitive gaze, create a moment of pure magic, where they meet in quiet presence with each other.
It’s a reminder beautiful connections that transcend words or barriers, bringing joy and light to our hearts, even with those who we might think are so different from us. Maybe we are a little more alike than we once thought.

Mandala creation is a centering device to bring us clarity and deeper wisdom. Yoga nidra and yoga practices are wonderful at awakening our innate creative flow within us, and help us to get out of our ‘judging mind’, giving us more freedom to create with ease.
Mandala means ‘center, circumference, power circle, or magic circle’. Peoples and cultures of all eras have found circle or Mandala creation a satisfying and meaningful form of expression. The mandalas we create reflect something about who and how we are in this present moment to learn about ourselves in a new way. It is what Cherokee teacher Dhyani Ywahoo calls ‘Bringing your wholeness to light’.
