A session begins with an evaluation of the client’s vital energy, to assess imbalance. Treatment can include massaging the body’s energetic pathways, as well as gentle rotations, stretches, and muscle release techniques, to improve the flows of energy. Pressure is applied at a comfortable level in a continuous rhythmic sequence.

Shiatsu works on the autonomic nervous system, allowing the receiver to deeply relax, stimulating the body’s inherent ability for self-healing. Circulation of is stimulated as well as the flow of lymphatic fluid. Shiatsu helps to release toxins and deep-seated tension from the muscles and can also assist in balancing the hormonal system. A regular program of Shiatsu is an excellent way to maintain wellness and Improve vitality.

Shiatsu is practiced on the floor on a soft mat, without massage oil, and the client remains fully clothed during the treatment.
